I had a great knitting week this week and I finished up some projects. Found a lot of fun yarn that I can’t wait to share with you when it comes in the mail and started some fun socks. So without further ado lets get this going.
What’s on my needles this week…
(1) Stark Knit Cap the project from hell… I just don’t know about this hat. I was moving along so good and then I switched to the DPN’s and it all fell apart. Now yet again I have to rip back because I went to put it away for the night and one of the needles fell out and as I went to put it back in I dropped several stitches and as I went to put them back on they ripped back like five or six rows and as I was fixing them I guess I manhandled it because another DPN fell out and the same thing happened with another dropped stitch. And ARRGGGGHHHH!!!!! There is something about this hat that just doesn’t want to be knitted. Not sure if I’m going to laugh or cry. (maybe I’ll just drink and try again, 6x the charm?!?)
(2) Escama del Dragon Cowl, okay okay maybe I will punch this out this week. Let’s cross out fingers and get this project finished this week. Are you as sick as I am of listing this in the unfinished projects list?
(3) Vanilla Latte Socks, by Virginia Rose-Jeanes on US3 using Lorna’s Lace Sport weight, Peppermint Mocha colorway. This is a new project for the list and I am loving knitting them they are turning out so nice and are knitting up fast. I am knitting them for my mom and she loves them the pattern is great I am using the Fish Lips Kiss heel for the first time and I have to admit it is a wonderful heel and if you haven’t used it before I highly recommend it of all the heels I have used before this one is by far the best. The one thing I recommend with it is to read through all the instructions before you dive in. There are a lot but it will make sense once you do that and then dive into the knitting.
What I have Finished My FO’s!!!
Don’t faint buy I have 2 count them 2 finished projects this week.
Kaleidoscope Striped Shawlette by Zehava Jacobs knitting on US7 using Crystal Palace yarn Mochi Plus colorway So this took me almost a month to finish, and if I had to go back and do it again I think I would use a fingering weight yarn instead of such a heavy yarn like the Mochi Plus, but I weight with the yarn ideas in the shawlette on Ravelry. Live an learn. The picture I have here is before the blocking. So I’m not 100% happy with the way it turned out. I might try the pattern again when I don’t have 50 other items I really want to do.
My purple fingerless gloves I’m in love with. I am so happy they are done and I truly love them. I don’t have them on my projects page on Ravelry. They were just something I threw together I didn’t have a pattern for them. But I am so happy they way they turned out.
So I got some wonderful roving from Knit Pick, Sapphire Heather Roving, and OMG is it spinning up beautifully. I can’t wait to see how it really turns out. This is great to practice my spinning on. I try to spin a little every day. And just as and FYI, this colorway as a lot my teal in it them these pictures show. But still gorgeous.
